Candidate Registration Documents

You are required to produce one of the Registration Documents from the list below.

 

  • A passport showing that the holder is a British Citizen, or has a right of abode in the United Kingdom.
  • A document showing that the holder is a national from a European Economic Area (EEA) country or Switzerland. This must be a national passport or national identity card.
  • A residence permit issued by the Home Office to a national from a EEA country or Switzerland.
  • A passport or other document issued by the Home Office which has an endorsement stating that the holder has a current right of residence in the United Kingdom as the family member of a national from a EEA country or Switzerland who is resident in the UK.
  • A passport or other travel document endorsed to show that the holder can stay indefinitely in the UK or has no time limit on their stay.
  • An Immigration Status Document issued by the Home Office, the Border and Immigration Agency or the UK Border Agency to the holder with an endorsement indicating that the name in it is allowed to stay indefinately in the UK or has no time limit on their stay in the UK, when produced with an official document giving your Hational Insurance Number.
  • An application Registration Card issued by the Home Office to an asylum seeker stating that the holder is permitted to take employment.
  • A full birth certificate issued in the UK which includes the names of at least one of the holders parents, when produced with an official document giving your National Insurance Number.
  • A full adoption certificate issued in the UK which includes the names of at least one of the holders adoptive parents, when produced with an official document giving your National Insurance Number.
  • A birth certificate issued in the Channel Islands. the Isle of Man or Ireland when produced with an official document giving your National Insurance Number.
  • An adoption certificate issued in the Channel Islands. the Isle of Man or Ireland when produced with an official document giving your National Insurance Number.
  • A certificate of registration or naturalisation as a British citizen when produced with an official document giving you National Insurance Number.
  • An letter issued by the Home Office, the Border and Immigration Agency or the UK Border Agency to the holder which indicates that the name in it is allowed to stay indefinately in the UK when produced with an official document giving your Hational Insurance Number.
  • A Biometric Immigration Document issued by the UK Border Agency to the holder to indicate that the person named in it can stay in the UK and is allowed to do the work in question.
  • A work permit or other approval to take employment issued by the Home Office, the Border and Immigration Agency or UK Border Agency when produced with either a passport or another travel document endorsed to show the holder is allowed to stay and do the work in question or a leeter issues from the Home Office.

Notes for overseas applicantsInternational students over the age of 16:

  • Can take part-time work for up to 20 hours per week during term-time or take full-time vacation work.
  • Can undertake a work placement which is part of their course with their education institute’s agreement.
  • Should not pursue a career by filling a permanent full-time vacancy.
  • Must provide evidence that they are studying on a course lasting over 6 months and have a valid passport stamp.

Working Holidaymakers:

  • Who are Commonwealth citizens aged 17 to 27, who can come to the UK for up to two years as working holiday-makers.
  • May only take employment that is ‘incidental’ to their stay, which the Home Office defines as casual or part-time work.
  • Can only work for up to one year on a full-time basis.
  • Are prohibited from pursuing a career, providing a service or engaging in business.
  • Must have a Working Holidaymaker visa (passport stamp) to come under this category.
