One of Expedient Recruitments former Agency Workers became Site IT Manager for prestigious logistics company DHL based at Prologis Business Park in Coventry.
Colin Lent joined Expedient in August 2010 following a second period of redundancy within 12 months. Colin, a former IT technician found himself redundant after 10 years’ service, found another job but was made redundant again within 3 months. With bills to pay and his first baby on the way he reached out to friends and family looking for work and was suggested to approach Expedient. Very quickly we were able to secure a position with Unipart Logistics based in Baginton. During his 13 months there whilst working for Expedient, he progressed from Warehouse packing to working in the Operations Offices carrying out various Administration duties.
Following a house move from Nuneaton to Rugby, Colin approached the team at Expedient again to look for an alternative company to work for more local to his new home. An opening was available as a Warehouse Picker working for DHL, within a matter of months Colin gained a full time contract with DHL. In June 2012 Colin successfully gained the role of IT Superuser within DHL and for the last 2 years has been part of a team responsible for training, configuring, implementing and supporting a new Warehouse Management System computer system.
Through hard work and dedication, in April 2014 Colin was successful in his interview for Site IT Manager and transferred to his new site and started full time in July 2014.
Said Colin, “I am really proud of what I have achieved over the past 4 years, I reached out to the team at Expedient at I time when I was desperate for work and was happy to give anything a go. Darren and Andrea are a great team; I have found them to be very friendly, professional and approachable at every point of my relationship with them. I have, and will continue to recommend them to friends and family”. “I am really looking forward to the challenges that my new role will bring – I will have sole IT responsibility for a multi-Site, multi-customer contact, so will have plenty to keep me busy and get stuck into”.
